In order to get students thinking about cultural differences, show students a comic like this one. (I actually commissioned my boyfriend to make this for me last night - He's awesome!)
In groups, have students describe what is happening in this comic. Are there any cultural influences at play? What would you do in a situation like this? Have you ever done something embarrassing because of cultural or societal differences?
Start getting students excited about creating their own comics to illustrate cultural differences.
